Clausearc, Inc. ("Clausearc," "we," "us," or "our") operates the clausearc.com website and the Clausearc contract review platform. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share information about law firms and individuals who use our services.

Account and firm information: When you register for Clausearc or request a demo, we collect your name, email address, firm name, role, and phone number.
Contract documents: When you use the Clausearc platform to review contracts, we process the document content to provide the redline and risk scoring output. Contract documents are processed in memory and are not retained beyond the active session unless you explicitly enable document storage for audit trail purposes.
Usage data: We collect information about how you interact with the platform, including feature usage, review cycle times, and error events. This data is used to improve the service and is not tied to individual contract content.
Technical data: We collect IP addresses, browser type, operating system, and session identifiers for security and operational purposes.
2. How We Use Information
- To provide and operate the Clausearc platform
- To deliver contract redlines and risk scoring outputs to authorized users
- To send transactional communications (demo confirmations, account notifications)
- To improve platform accuracy and performance
- To comply with legal obligations
We do not use your firm’s contract content to train machine learning models without explicit written consent.

We do not sell, rent, or share your information with third parties for advertising purposes. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Service providers: Infrastructure, hosting, and security vendors who process data on our behalf under data processing agreements
- Legal requirements: When required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of Clausearc and its users

4. Data Security
Clausearc implements industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit (TLS 1.2+), encryption at rest, access controls, and regular security assessments. Contract documents processed through the platform are handled under strict access controls and are not accessible to Clausearc personnel except for support purposes with your authorization.
5. Data Retention
Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription and for up to 36 months following termination for legal and compliance purposes. Contract documents processed in session-only mode are not stored. Audit trail data (if enabled) is retained for the period specified in your subscription agreement, typically 7 years for legal compliance purposes.
